HemoFAXS - Microscope-based fully automated leukocytes acquisition and classification system
HemoFAXS brings blood analysis to full automation, whilst maintaining key controlling procedures for accurate analysis. Your hematology lab will benefit from this simple and elegant way of dealing with blood smears. The One-Button-Option HemoFAXS takes over all time consuming, but easy tasks from your lab worker. However, visual control and go-to-cell features make it superior to other fully-automated systems, as it combines the advantages of programmed and human intelligence.
Automated Sample Identification
HemoFAXS 2.0 can now be upgraded with an additional IVD conform camera for slide label reading. The external LED equipped CCD camera takes pictures of the slide label and the label ID is automatically digitized and read out into the HemoFAXS software.
The digitized slide ID is jointly displayed with the digital image in the HemoFAXS interface on the Evaluation tab, allowing easy control of the correctness of the digitization process, as well as easy editing in case of need.
Currently, this is available for Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Advia Autoslide labels. However the process can be adapted to any printed alphanumeric label, as well as to barcodes.
Handwritten labels are not recognized, but can be imaged an displayed for easier manual input of the slide id. The software version delivered with this upgrade comes with added capabilities to deliver full automation. It automatically detects empty slots and also scans two or more slides with the same ID to sum up the Leucocyte formula.
Automated Oiling
This upgrade provides an Oiling Device which drops a small defined amount of immersion oil on the identified working area of the specific slide.
As this oil is deposited in exactly the right place and also at the right time, it is possible to use cheaper, thinner oil types.
Both upgrades together allow for a full consecutive scanning automation, with nothing else to do for the operator but to insert full 8-slide inserts and clicking the “Start” button.
