(Click to see larger image) This is one of our newest and favorite miniature USB 3.1 CMOS C-mount Color Cameras. For such a small and inexpensive camera, it does a great job capturing low-light fluorescence images and video. It has a 1/1.8 " Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor with high sensitivity for low-light applications and high frame rate for video when adequate light is present. The STARVIS sensor performs on-chip analog/digital signal conversion and two-step noise reduction in parallel on each column of pixels. Progressive scan, up to 3072 x 2048 2.4μm pixels (6.3 megapixels), up to 60 images/s. Software included for image capture on PC with shutter speeds ranging from 1/100,000 to 30 secs and up to 48dB of gain. It attaches to microscopes via a 0.35x C-mount, sold separately. This camera powers itself directly from the computer's USB port and operates from -5°C to 45°C!
