MW: 70,500 lyophilized from 20 mM NaH2PO4, pH 7.5, and 150 mM NaCI Storage: -20°C Native, human eosinophil peroxidase is a secreted hemoprotein that catalyzes oxidations of various substrates by hydrogen peroxide. Together with other leukocyte-derived enzymes, such as Myeloperoxidase, EPO plays an important role in the pathogenesis of asthma by mediating oxidative events that lead to the production of ROS (reactive oxygen species) and RNS (reactive nitrogen species). Activity: Greater than or = 180 units per mg protein after lyophilization. One unit of activity is defined as the amount of enzyme which will decompose one micromole of hydrogen peroxide per minute at 25°C, pH 6.0 Purity: >=95% by SDS-PAGE Prepared from whole blood shown to be non reactive for HBsAg, anti-HCV, anti- HBc, and negative for anti-HIV 1 & 2 by FDA approved tests.
