Cross-contamination during amplification of DNA and RNA can lead to results that are inaccurate. These results consume valuable time and expensive reagents. AirClean? PCR hoods protect sensitive reactions from airborne contaminants. Each system has a built-in 254 nm ultraviolet light for decontamination of consumables and equipment between amplifications. Combination workstations include vertical laminar flow action to prevent outside contaminants from entering the work area during manipulation.

AirClean? Systems PCR Workstations have a unibody design with overlapping parts that prevent the escape of harmful ultraviolet energy during sterilization. The base of each PCR Workstation is made of a custom extruded polypropylene blend that reflects ultraviolet energy and makes cleaning easier. Each unit has a one-year warranty.

The Combination Workstation combines an ISO 5 (FS209E) Class 100 clean air environment with UV light sterilization for optimal protection from sample contamination. Raising the full access folding sash turns off the UV light and activates the blower and fluorescent light. (The unit above is shown on an optional portable cart.)

The UVTect? controller monitors the effectiveness of the workstation and alerts the operator if the HEPA filter or UV bulb needs replacement. UVTect? also allows manual adjustment of the airflow, accommodating even the most fragile samples. Additional features include a digital 0-59 minute UV light timer and a lab event timer.
