| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE, silver stain). Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of mast cells. SCF also mediates cell-cell adhesion and acts synergistically with other cytokines. The actions of SCF are exerted by binding to the SCF Receptor (PE-1243-50) which results in receptor dimerization. SCF is a type I membrane glycoprotein with 5 potential N-linked glycosylation sites. Soluble SCF is produced by proteolytic cleavage of the extracellular domain. Source: DNA sequence encoding the signal peptide and the mature Stem Cell Factor (SCF) protein of human SCF was expressed in modified human 293 cells. Biological. Activity: The ED50 of SCF is typically 10-20 ng/ml as measured in a cell proliferation assay using the human growth factor-dependent M-07e cell line. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. |
